Agenda Items and discussion points:

Ivinghoe Food Bank

We have reconfigured the corridor next to the communal room so that it can be used to store produce for Ivinghoe Food Bank. Babs Byrom has emailed to thank the Hub for their assistance in making this possible.

Safety at the Hub

Treasurer comment: following a conversation with a Fire Officer from Bucks Fire and rescue we should get someone to perform a new fire risk assessment of the building, especially with the new kitchen and the kitchen area in the Old School room. All Trustees are considered as responsible persons for the Hub . One of the main things is to have all employees and volunteers of the hub to be trained in procedures. We should look to appoint someone as a being responsible for safety. Chair to follow up.

New Business (rental) Proposal for the Hub

A local electric bike rental business has approached the Hub to see if a collaboration is possible by utilising some of the outside space as a home for the bikes and a place for visitors to come to, to collect their bikes. Trustees have reviewed the plan outlined and agree that this is an excellent way to support a local business and provide a base for a healthy activity for the community to participate in. Details of the contract (hire charge and conditions) will be sent to the business in question once any health and safety or planning issues related have been explored.

Horticulture

The Horticulture team have worked hard to clear the front and side courtyards and begin a refresh of the planting, including hanging baskets.

Hub History Group

A small group of local volunteers have met to kick off the Hub History project. The aim is to get a great selection of photos together for a regular and regularly refreshed exhibition of local history together with a series of talks and in the longer term History Hikes, so that people in the area can find out more about the place where they live.

Finance Update

Treasurer is updating the details with Bucks CC for the Hub Business Rates in preparation for the repurposed facilities and those which will be rented to the new café business.

Maintenance update

With the repurposing of the rear room into a community rental and activity area we will need to move the projector screen into this area and install blinds.

A quote has been received for these items and we will organise fund raising to try to cover the costs for this in due course.

Chair and Maintenance have cleared out any unusable equipment with a view to moving these out of the IT room and into another area at the Hub. A skip has been set up outside the hub for these items together with any other things which need to be removed during the restoration/renovation of the building.
